Rock I just don't think you are opening your mind up to what I'm trying to say regarding bigotry and homophobia. Take the religious context out of it for a sec and don't focus on the sin part of it.

Now, say Joe doesn't like people who are baseball fans because he is a football fan. Baseball fans come from all races, creeds, countries and religions but Joe doesn't like them because he doesn't like baseball. None of these people were baseball fans out of the womb...they came to be fans through learned behavior. Joe doesn't agree with their lifestyle because he thinks baseball is a boring sport. Is Joe a bigot?

Or say a more similar analogy: I do not like prostitution or drugs. I do not agree with the lifestyle and it's negative effect on society. I do not hate or even dislike prostitutes or drug attics as individuals because I don't know any of them personally. I am not judging their salvation in relation to God because that concerns their personal relationship with him. I simply think that it has a negative impact on society thus I do not advocate partaking in such and actually vehemenently oppose it as an accepted lifestyle in society and the community. Am I a bigot?

By that definition everyone in a bigot in some aspect.

I know the definition...I'm talking about the context in which we use it in our every day language. If used verbatum to the definition then all of us would be bigots. If you don't tolerate child molestation then you would be a bigot...murder, rape, incest...we are all bigots in that sense. I'm talking about the reasonable and pragmatic use of the word.

You have already confessed your bigotry concerning those who abuse children and animals.

So someone harming children and animals is living out a creed, belief, or opinion? Following laws and not condoning what is illegal, is not bigotry. You're trying to twist definitions to some how wrangle it around to suit your Christian views.

Sodomy is illegal. Just adding to the conversation. Have to go with James on this one ole buddy.

Sodomy is not illegal everywhere. The places that it is, it is not enforced. It's an outdated, unenforced law similar to you can beat your wife for various indiscretions.

The foundation of laws for most all countries is based in religion. So if someone says they don't believe in any religion and cast off all belief then by default they are saying they reject the principle of morals and values...since morals and values are usually based on laws that as i said before are rooted in one religion or the other.
